The latest Lisbon secret location for seafood - Ponto Final

Ponto Final Restaurant is a traditional Portuguese restaurant that was established in 1945. It is located on Rua do Ginjal, 72 in the Almada neighborhood of Lisbon, on the banks of the Tagus River on the other side of the historic town. The restaurant is serving delicious seafood dishes and classic Portuguese cuisine.

The restaurant is situated in a historic building that was once a boat house, and the interior is decorated with nautical touches that pay homage to its past. Guests can sit inside and enjoy the cozy atmosphere, but even cooler is to reserve a table outside to experience the stunning views of the river. You can see the historic center of Lisbon, spanning from Torres de Belem in the West, Avril 25 Bridge through to Praca do Commercio in the East. The view is particularly stunning at sunset, with the sky and the river reflecting a warm orange and pink hue.

To get to Ponte Final Restaurant from LD Apartments in Lisbon, you can take the ferry from Cais do Sodré to Cacilhas, which is just a short walk from the restaurant. Alternatively, you can also take a taxi or an Uber from LD Apartments, which would take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic over Avril 25 bridge. You will have to go down a lift to get to the restaurant as the area it is in is not accessible by car.

Ponte Final Restaurant is open every day from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with the exception of Tuesdays when it is closed. It is recommended to make a reservation for Ponte Final Restaurant in advance, as it is often fully booked a month ahead of time, especially for dinner. However, it is easier to get a lunchtime table. While walk-ins are welcome, there is no guarantee of getting a table, and there is one more good restaurant in the area that is also busy most times, yet easier to get a table ad hoc.

Aside from its magnificent views, Ponte Final is known for its fresh seafood dishes, including grilled sardines, octopus salad, and seafood stew. They also serve classic Portuguese dishes such as bacalhau (salt cod) and cozido (a hearty meat and vegetable stew). Overall if you have the time to get there as it can be a 30-45 min journey from the apartments, it is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience traditional Portuguese cuisine in a beautiful setting, that wants to see Lisbon from a different angle :)
